Club Profile
The inaugural meeting of the Balclutha Bridge Club was held on 11 May 1965; it is registered as an Incorporated Society and is affiliated to NZ Bridge.
We own our own building, purchasing the land on 30 January 1969. J B Harrold was the builder – and thanks to the hard work of previous club members, we are mortgage free.
We use the Scorer computerised program, with our results currently being posted on the Bridge NZ website.
We don’t have a Dealing Machine, so we just manually deal the cards before the commencement of play.
Our annual subscription is great value at $55.00.
Our club has 30 members, and we are keen to increase our numbers, so Bridge Lessons are offered on Thursday evenings at no cost. Contact Irene Carson (03 413 9606) should you be interested.
Where to find us
The Balclutha Bridge Club Rooms are in Crown Street. Find us by turning North/West off the Main Street into George or Elizabeth Streets; cross over Charlotte Street; Crown Street is at the very end of George & Elizabeth Streets. The Bridge Club Rooms are on the main highway side of Crown Street.
