The Club started up in Ranfurly in 1979. Two of the founding members are still living in the district and are good supporters of the Club. As many clubs do, it started as a group of locals playing in one another’s homes, but as numbers grew it was decided to form a club, playing in a permanent location. They played for 30 years in the Bowling Club which was also big enough to hold their tournaments. They recently moved to the current venue in the Wallace Memorial Room. The Club has a reputation as being lively and friendly. The yearly Intermediate Tournament has always been well supported by players from the wider Otago Area, often attracting a full house.
